Arts & Culture programs are offered throughout the year as part of our Project MOST After School curriculum.
Students explore several creative outlets, from visual art to songwriting or dance. Our Expert-in-Residency program invites local artists to authentically share and engage students in their areas of expertise. Learning continues beyond the classroom with scheduled trips to museums, cultural institutions, and local theaters.

Our one of a kind expert-in-residency program introduces students to professionals in the arts, including painters, dancers, musicians, and more. These artists in residence work with our students and share their passion for their areas of expertise in an authentic, hands-on fashion be it in visual art, storytelling, theater, dance and movement, circus arts, songwriting, sound recording, or music.

Students are offered the opportunity to work in a variety of media during the year, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, mosaic, and embroidery. Examples of past projects students have worked on include painting an anti-bullying mural, building a six-foot-long mosaic, creating a sculptural installation made entirely of recycled materials and duct tape, making jewelry using glass and wire, sculpting ceramic bowls and other pieces, beading, and more.

Local musicians work with our students throughout the year, introducing them to a variety of musical styles. Traditional American Folk Music, drum circles, and Hip Hop are all a part of our musical landscape. Past projects include internationally recognized singer-songwriter, Inda Eaton spending a week as an artist-in-residence with 4th and 5th graders at John M. Marshall Elementary School and Springs School. Students composed and recorded an original song that was performed for the Project MOST community of students and families.

Keith Leaf, nationally known Circus performer, teaches students how to juggle, spin plates, balance, and many other circus arts skills.

Our K-2 students explore the art of storytelling as a means to understand their world. Our older students expand on this in the exploration of theater studies and theatrical performance. Students learn to express themselves and develop self-confidence through drama games and improvisation.

Classes focus on both improvisational and choreographed dance. Students gain confidence as they perform for their peers in a supportive environment. Dance encourages students to stay active and fit and to develop an appreciation for music and movement. Dance enhances coordination and motor skills and fosters self-esteem and the ability to work collaboratively. Hip Hop, Afro-Caribbean, and Jazz Dance are all explored.

At Project MOST, we believe that introducing students to the rich cultural and natural resources of the East End and beyond is essential to creating lifelong learners. We take our students on a variety of cultural excursions to museums and other areas of interest in our community and make a yearly expedition to a museum or cultural institution in New York City to study a world culture or period in history.

Health and Wellness programs are offered throughout the year as part of our Project MOST After School curriculum.
Our approach is holistic, attentive to the mind and body. In our organic garden and greenhouse classes, we teach students about how food is grown, nutrition, and nourishment through healthy cooking. We also explore movement and mindfulness through yoga, soccer, swimming, dance, jump rope, walking, organized games, and golf.

Students learn to plant, nurture, and harvest vegetables in our organic garden and greenhouse. Guided by our resident garden educator and nutritionist, students learn organic gardening practices and about growing, maintaining and harvesting plants. They use the organically farmed produce, herbs, and other whole foods to prepare healthy and delicious recipes.

Through yoga, Project MOST students learn body awareness, relaxation techniques, strengthening and stretching while practicing mindfulness. Through Double Dutch jump rope, Project MOST students develop coordination, work as a team, and incorporate exercise into their play lives. Other physical activities students participate in include soccer, dance, walking, organized games, and golf.

Certified swim instructors at the East Hampton YMCA teach our students swimming and water safety, an essential in a maritime community.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math programs are offered throughout the year as part of our Project MOST After School curriculum.

Project MOST S.T.E.M. classes center on environmental science, chemistry, engineering, technology, and math. Through local partnerships and collaborations, we also focus our curricula on the study of our local environment.

Partnerships with Group for the East End, a local non-profit focused on protecting and restoring the environment of eastern Long Island through education, conservation, and advocacy, Quail Hill Farm, an organic community farm in Amagansett, and the East Hampton Town Shellfish Hatchery allow us to educate Project MOST students in the areas of environmental science, chemistry, engineering, technology and math through the study of our local environment.

Project MOST + Group for the East End: Earth Savers | Students participate in a 6-week environmental education program that includes authentic service learning projects. Past activities have included storm water drain stenciling, removing invasive plant species from beaches, planting native plants and grasses in public spaces, creating a rain garden, building bird boxes, and more.

Project MOST + Group for the East End: Mad Scientist Club | Students participate in science experiments using hands-on and inquiry-based techniques.They learn to practice appropriate laboratory skills while observing and analyzing chemical and physical changes.

Project MOST students are challenged to build different structures, using a variety of traditional and non-traditional materials. Students learn to hone their critical thinking and problem solving skills, record data, and work together in teams.

Promotes cooperative and competitive play through real-time strategy and simulations on computer desktops and game consoles.

At Project MOST, we introduce students to the rich natural resources of the East End and beyond. Students have had the opportunity to meet with professional scientists, engineers, marine biologists and more. Project MOST scientific excursions have included trips to:
