science, technology, engineering, and math

Environmental Science, chemistry, engineering, technology and math are the focus of this portion or our program. Our partnerships with Group for the East End, Quail Hill Farm, and the East Hampton Town Shellfish Hatchery help us to educate the students about local environmental issues.  

What did you do after school today?
— We made a bag explode using baking soda and vinegar!

Collaboration with Group for the East End: Earth Savers

Students participate in a 6 week environmental education program that includes authentic service learning projects. Past activities have included storm water drain stenciling, removing of invasive plant species from beaches, planting native plants and grasses in public spaces, creating a rain garden, building bird boxes, and more.

Collaboration with Group for the East End: Mad Scientist Club

Students participate in science experiments using hands-on and inquiry-based techniques.They learn to practice appropriate laboratory skills, while observing and analyzing chemical and physical changes.

Collaboration with Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE): Family Science Program

CMEE and Project MOST are collaborating to offer a 9-week series of science workshops in the evenings for children and their families. Classes are hands-on and inquiry based. Past topics have included astronomy, robotics, and marine biology.


Project MOST students are challenged to build a number of different structures, using a variety of traditional and non-traditional materials. Students learn to hone their critical thinking and problem solving skills, record data, and work together in teams.

Cyber Club

Cyber Club promotes cooperative and competitive play through real time strategy and simulations on computer desktops and game consoles.
